WHAT SHOULD CHANGE AFTER YOU GIVE YOUR LIFE TO JESUS?

Salvation is not simply about saying a prayer, attending church or calling yourself a Christian. It is about becoming a new creation in Christ. Second Corinthians 5:17 says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” As a teenager, your salvation should begin to influence what you think, what you say, what you watch, how you treat people, the friendships you keep and the decisions you make. Following Jesus means allowing Him to transform your identity from the inside out. If someone looked at your life without hearing you say that you are a Christian, would they see evidence that Jesus is changing you?

You learn to surrender your daily life to God and allow His Word to shape your choices. Romans 12:1 to 2 teaches believers not to be conformed to the pattern of the world but to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. This means you do not have to follow every trend simply because everyone else is doing it. You can choose purity when others choose compromise, forgiveness when others choose revenge, truth when others choose deception and self control when others are controlled by their desires. What are you allowing to shape your mind more: Christ or the culture around you?

Your life should look different after salvation because you now belong to Jesus, and your life has a purpose beyond fitting in. Your gifts, creativity, intelligence, voice, energy and influence can become instruments for God's glory. Ephesians 2:10 says that we are created in Christ Jesus for good works. You do not have to wait until you become an adult before God can use you. You can encourage someone, serve in church, create meaningful content, help others, share your faith and use your abilities for God's purposes now. What gift has God placed in you that you have been treating as ordinary?

First Timothy 4:12 tells Timothy not to allow anyone to despise his youth, but to become an example in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity. Your age does not disqualify you from being an example. You can influence your friends, classmates, siblings and even adults through the way you live. You do not need to pretend to be older than you are; you need to become faithful with who God has made you to be. What kind of testimony is your life giving to the people who know you personally?

Jesus should be present in your classroom, home, friendships, social media, conversations, entertainment, relationships and private decisions. Holiness is not about trying to look religious; it is about belonging completely to Jesus and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide your life. Teenager, you are not too young for God. Your youth can become a testimony of what Jesus can do through a surrendered life. If you gave Jesus every part of your life today, what would change first?
