AS A TEENAGER, WHY DO I NEED SALVATION?

Salvation means being rescued from sin and brought back into a right relationship with God. As a teenager, you may hear people talk about church, Christianity, prayer, baptism, or attending services, but salvation is deeper than all of these things. It is not simply belonging to a denomination or having your name on a church register. Salvation is about knowing God personally through Jesus Christ and allowing Him to become Lord of your life.

The Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin is anything that separates us from God's will, whether it is lying, hatred, sexual immorality, disobedience, unforgiveness, pride, or secretly living in ways that we know are wrong. Sin affects our relationship with God because God is holy. You cannot solve the problem of sin simply by trying to become a better person. Humanity needs redemption, and that redemption comes through Jesus.

God did not leave humanity without hope. He sent Jesus Christ to die for our sins and bring us back to Himself. Jesus took the punishment that we deserved so that we could receive forgiveness, a new life, and fellowship with God. Salvation is therefore not about trying to impress God with religious activities. It is about believing in Jesus, turning away from sin, receiving His forgiveness, and choosing to follow Him. Christianity begins when you encounter Christ, not merely when you enter a church.

So ask yourself honestly: Do I know Jesus personally, or am I only familiar with church? You can know Christian songs, attend youth meetings, quote scriptures, follow Christian pages, and still need a personal relationship with Jesus. Jesus wants your heart, your choices, your future, and your identity. Salvation is God's invitation for you to come home to Him. Do not allow your age to make you think you are too young to follow Christ. Give your life to Jesus, walk with Him, listen to the Holy Spirit, and allow Him to shape the person you were created to become.
